2008 Darley Guineas Day Review

Race-goers applauded the long-awaited return to Group One racing to Rosehill Gardens on 12 April. The headline race of the day was the set weight contest, the Dubai Rosehill Guineas (Group 1).

In an open race, the Anthony Cummings-trained Dealer Principal, with Peter Robl aboard (pictured below), scored a surprise win from Kingda Ka and Littorio.

Darley Guineas Day was the first day the new Grand Pavilion was used to accommodate race day guests with 1,000 peopple watching the action from the new $30 million facility.

Members enjoyed the perfect beginning to the day with plenty of food and drink to be had at the annual Members' Brunch which was held on the Grand View Terrace.
