The Golden Slipper Festival is renowned as providing one of those rare chances to witness the true making of champions of the turf and culminates in the richest race for two-year-olds in the world, the AAMI Golden Slipper.

Studying the formMyer Sydney Confidential Ladies’ Day on the 21 March presents two Group 1 races: the Myer Queen of the Turf Stakes (1550m) and Ranvet Stakes (1900m) and the two Group 2 Slipper trials, the Jacobs Creek Todman Stakes and the Perfect Vision Laser Correction (Reisling) Stakes which see the program’s total prize money exceed $1.8 million.

Darley Guineas Day on the 28 March takes place at Rosehill Gardens. The program features the Group 1 Dubai Rosehill Guineas ($500,000), a race steeped in history, having crowned some of Australia’s champion gallopers in Phar Lap, Tulloch, Dulcify, Tie the Knot and Eremein.

AAMI Golden Slipper Day - at Rosehill Gardens on 4 April is the crescendo is the Festival’s third and final Saturday - . The finale is the richest day of racing on the Australian calendar and boasts some five Group 1 events.

The highlight is undoubtedly the richest race in the world for two-year-olds, the AAMI Golden Slipper Stakes. The $3.5 million sprint for racing’s top juveniles attracts more than 30,000 people to Rosehill Gardens each year.

And those who make the trip will find themselves spoilt by not only witnessing the Slipper but The BMW ($2.25m), the only Group 1 weight-for-age race to be contested over 2400m. The BMW’s honour roll reads like a who’s who of racing legendary ... Kingston Town, Bonecrusher, Octagonal, Might and Power, Makybe Diva … they have all found glory in this magnificent test.
