The highlight of the Sydney racing calendar is undoubtedly the richest race in the world for two-year-olds, the AAMI Golden Slipper Stakes.

The $3.5 million 1200m sprint for racing’s top juveniles attracts more than 2,000 nominations from owners vying for the chance to secure a rich breeding future for their progeny.

Over 30,000 people flock to Rosehill Gardens to witness the running of this race each year.

The winner of the coveted AAMI Golden Slipper for 2009 was Phelan Ready.
