Conditions of Entry

To ensure the safety and comfort of all guests visiting either Rosehill Gardens or Canterbury Park the following conditions of entry have been put in place.

Guests are not permitted to enter the venue with any of the following:

  • Alcohol or illegal substances.
  • Glass
  • Cans
  • Beach Umbrellas
  • Fold Up Chairs
  • Any item deemed unsafe by Security and STC officials.

Perishable or processed foods intended for GROUP CONSUMPTION such as meats, seafood’s, salads, dairy products and sandwich/fruit/vegetable PLATTERS are NOT permitted. Should you wish to pre-purchase a range of platters available from Rosehill Gardens, you can do so by making a booking here. Guests are welcome to bring in the following food for personal consumption such as individual sandwiches, cheese, dip spreads and biscuits, pieces of fruit, special individual dietary needs foods and individual drinks (NO GLASS OR ALCOHOL) including small flasks of tea and coffee in the general admission and grandstand areas only. Food for personal consumption is not permitted in pre-booked dining areas. No ‘Commercial Food’ is to be bought onto the premises however birthday cakes are permitted.

Large groups of racegoers will not be permitted entry in to the course. Such groups include those on buck’s days, end of season football celebrations and other large sporting groups on celebratory trips or days out.

Sydney Turf Club has the right to refuse entry to persons at the Club's discretion. Other large groups of guests will be asked to leave a contact for the day with security upon entry. This will ensure ease of communication if the need arises throughout the day.

Fancy dress costumes will be permitted entry to course. However any article of clothing bearing any image, slogans or text which is indecent, discriminatory, obscene, insulting or threatening or which may be offensive to other persons present at the course will not be permitted. Any costume deemed offensive, obscene, insulting, having sexual connotations or which may be offensive to other persons present at the course (as determined by the STC in its sole discretion) will NOT be permitted.
Smoking is not permitted in enclosed areas or on the seating decks.

Sydney Turf Club reserves the right to search all persons and bags that are brought into or taken out of the venue.

Throughout the venue there are various areas that have restricted dress regulations; these areas include the Members’ Reserve & Level 4 & 5 dining areas of the JR Fleming Stand.

It is a requirement of law that you will produce identification and information on request from Police, Security or STC Club Officials. Acceptable identification to be supplied is: drivers license, current passport or RTA proof of age card.

Servicing or supply of alcohol to minors under 18 is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Offenders will be fined or prosecuted. There are areas on course that are monitored by CCTV for security purposes.

The Club will not tolerate any intoxicated, violent, quarrelsome or disorderly behaviour. Offenders will be ejected and may face prosecution. Unauthorised persons are not permitted on to the track at anytime. Trespassers will be prosecuted.

Filming or photography of patrons is not allowed unless permission is authorised by Club Officials.Authorised photography may be used for promotional purposes.

Sydney Turf Club will not refund any monies if a race meeting is abandoned or cancelled by order of the Stewards before three races are held.

Sydney Turf Club has implemented these requirements for the enjoyment and comfort of its Members and guests.

 

 

Dress Regulations in the Members Area

Members Dress Regulations – Rosehill Gardens

Please be aware that dress regulations apply in the Members’ Reserve and STC officials reserve the right to refuse entry should these guidelines not be met.

Members are responsible for advising their guests of the dress regulations prior to the racemeeting.

GENTLEMEN (including children over 14 years of age)

Gentlemen are expected to maintain a suitable dress standard in keeping with the dignity of the Member’s Reserve which includes shirts tucked, collars buttoned and neat personal grooming.

  • Tailored trousers (suit jacket or sports coat optional).
  • Business shirt and tie must be worn and visible at all times.

Not Acceptable:

  • Any form of sports shoe such as joggers, track shoes and runners. Sandals, thongs, boat shoes, dilapidated footwear, scuffs or slippers. Any shoes without socks.
  • Jeans (including pants in any jean-like cut and coloured jeans), cords, moleskins, cargo pants, jodhpurs, shorts or any non-tailored slacks
  • Open neck shirts or shirts without a collar
  • Denim (pants or jackets)
  • Caps or beanies
  • Pullovers or cardigans (without a jacket), rugby tops and football Guernsey’s even if wearing a tie

LADIES (including children over 14 years of age)

Ladies are expected to maintain a suitable standard in keeping with the dignity of the Members Reserve.

  • Tailored slacks
  • Skirts and dresses
  • Tailored ¾ pants

Not Acceptable:

  • Any form of sports shoe such as joggers, track shoes and runners. Sandals, thongs, boat shoes, dilapidated footwear, scuffs or slippers. Any shoes without socks.
  • Any clothing revealing a bare midriff
  • Jeans (including any jean-like cut and coloured jeans), cords, moleskins, cargo pants, jodhpurs, shorts or any non-tailored slacks.
  • Denim (pants or jackets)
  • Tracksuits

CHILDREN

Children are expected to maintain a suitable standard in keeping with the dignity of the Members Reserve which includes no thongs or denim.

General Public Area Dress Regulations

Minimum respectable dress requirements for the public area include male/female dress  t-shirt, collared shirt, guernsey and jumpers.  No singlets are allowed.
 
Unauthorised promotional shirts (bucks parties, sporting groups), tattered, torn or dirty tops or clothing deemed not respectable by STC Management will also not be allowed.  Dress shorts, jeans or pants are deemed as acceptable attire however running shorts, dirty or torn work short/pants and overalls are not.
 
Closed or sturdy footwear should be worn such as runners, dress footwear, boots and shoes.  Other clothing and footwear deemed inappropriate include unsafe footwear, bare feet, costumes and party outfits.  Other costumes deemed not fit by STC management are not permitted on course.
 
STC Management has the last say in any decision including the right to refuse entry and the right to remove patrons from course.


 

 

Public Hospitality Areas Dress Regulations

Private Suites - JR Fleming Stand Level 5 dress regulations are business shirt and tie, no jeans or joggers. Ladies must be smartly dressed.

Baguette Suite - JR Fleming Stand Level 5 dress regulations are business shirt and tie, no jeans or joggers. Ladies must be smartly dressed.

Ascot Club - JR Fleming Stand Level 4 dress regulations are collared shirt (polo shirts are fine), no blue denim jeans and no joggers. Ladies must be smartly dressed.

Open Terraces - JR Fleming Stand Level 4 dress regulations are collared shirt (polo shirts are fine), no blue denim jeans and no joggers. Ladies must be smartly dressed.

Suit Jackets are optional throughout the STC venues.
